The Most Damaging Personality Trait To Have In Your Business

I was listening to one of my mentors recently and he said something that I just HAD to write down because I found it to be very profound. Basically he said, "One of the most damaging personality traits to have is caring what other people think!"

That really resonated with me because that had been a HUGE challenge in my life for many years, on many different levels and I won't go into all of that right here and now...but bottom line, it really made a LOT of sense.

Think about this for a moment...

What is it that causes people to be afraid to join a Network Marketing company?

What is it that causes people to not want to ask for the support of their friends and family in their new business?

What makes people not pursue a dream that they have?

What keeps us from wanting to talk to people we meet and at least find out if what we have can help them?

Unanimously it's a little something called OPO which stands for Other People's Opinions! We allow what others think and say about us to dictate what we will and will not do and that can be and usually is one of the biggest hindrances to reaching our goals in life. But what you have to realize is, the very same people who are criticizing you (or who you think/feel will criticize you) are the very ones who, when you look at their lives, are not even CLOSE to being where you want to be mentally and certainly not financially! They are the very same ones who are constantly complaining about life, complaining about money and they are also the ones who are settling, the ones who are always...BROKE!

And if you continue to listen to or be concerned with the thoughts and opinions of them, you will continue to remain in the exact same boat as they are!

These people can be called (and rightfully so) dream stealers. They have that "crabs in a bucket" mentality and either don't want to see you succeed or, they are simply jealous because they only wish they had the ability and the courage to do what it is that you're doing but unfortunately, rather than applaud your efforts, they shoot them down with ridicule.

If you continue to surround yourself with that, you will never get the where you need to go. So instead, start surrounding yourself with positive, supportive individuals who are either living their dreams, trying to live their dreams or at the very least, will support you as you make every attempt to live yours!
